While each member of the team each have their own individual specialist skills; we all work extremely closely together to ensure that our client’s needs are met in full. In addition to our own team below, we also work with an incredible number of FM specialists to provide bespoke project resource when we need it.

Tony Dilks – Senior Partner

Managing

Tony co-founded the Balance Partnership in 1996 and has been in the soft facilities management business for over thirty years, twenty of these at senior management level.

During a very hands on career, Tony has developed a reputation for going beyond the remit of Consultancy which leans heavily towards not only advising his clients of what is required while providing solid solutions, but more importantly physically applying himself to getting on with the detail until each of his assignments successful conclusion.

In 1977 Tony joined the Forte Group working with its contract division Gardner Merchant as District Manager. During his term with GM, he progressed in a number of senior roles which included being part of GMs circa £370million MBO shortly followed by its acquisition by Sodexo and culminating in one of the Companies senior positions as Divisional Managing Director, responsible for some 130 diverse business contracts which included Companies such as Rolls Royce, British Aerospace, Standard Life along with a number of Healthcare and Independent Education operations with responsibility for some 2,000 Divisional Staff. He now enjoys developing Balance’s diverse business portfolio and keeps regular contact with his clients both past and present.

Laura Churcher – Senior Partner

Global Consultancy

Laura who is also a co-founder of Balance Partnership comes from background that was predominantly in the field of high end design and related commodities procurement.

During her early career, she worked in sales and marketing within the electronics industry. Her role was very much geared towards understanding clients’ market awareness and how each Company met it’s forward development needs.

Laura managers the commercial Real Estate facilities part of our business by setting up successful project management solutions for a cross section of UK and overseas clients. Including projects working with Architects, property developers and buildings maintenance specialists.

In addition to commercial projects, her portfolio of responsibility includes independent Schools, hotels, restaurants, apartment blocks and office buildings.

Stewart Charles – Associate Partner

Systems, IT, Finance, Business Analytics

After finishing his education in Edinburgh, Stewart worked in the retail and service industry. This was quickly followed by fifteen years in the Financial Services and Banking sectors which included the role of Business Analyst and then moving towards the very progressive and fluid area of developing internet based Commercial, Corporate and Retail propositions for business and industry clients.

Stewart’s role is to adapt his “clear vision” approach to working with clients when reviewing their soft facilities management services which will not only include collating and analysing in-house and contracted out projects, but more importantly provide initial and longer term solutions (financial and operational) in order to develop “cultural” standards of excellence within agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This involves understanding both clients existing and future service requirements via research from internal and external sources and pro-actively managing existing end to end assignments in order to maintain project and client continuity. He is also involved in organising and facilitating process workshops to ensure that agreed solutions are communicated to all project participants on behalf of his clients.

Claire O’Donovan – Associate Partner

Health Care Specialist

Claire is an independent Healthcare Consultant who specialises in all aspects of Community Care, including crisis management, operational due diligence on potential acquisitions, streamlining mergers and dealing with all HR related synergies post acquisition.

Claire is also a qualified nurse who writes and delivers training programmes to both frontline staff and management.  With over 20 years’ experience in the private sector Claire has established an excellent network within health and social care.

Prior to consulting, Claire spent several years as an Operations Director for a National Healthcare company and was registered by the Commission for Social Care Inspection as the Nominated Responsible Individual both in the UK and Northern Ireland.

Claire Beacham – Associate Partner

Human Resource & Training Specialist

Claire is a highly effective and commercial HR professional with 20 years HR experience across a broad range of industries, her career commenced with BAA plc where she spent 6 years as a HR Adviser at Heathrow Airport and then joined Invesco Perpetual – a global investment management company – as a HR Manager progressing to become Head of HR for the UK and Ireland during her 10 years with the Company.

In 2009 she set up ‘Informed HR’ to provide HR consultancy services to a broad range of clients such as the Post Office, RAC, Internos Real Investors, Adoption UK, Chrysalis Research, British Association for Performing Arts Medicine and Achieve Breakthrough.

Claire’s experience ranges from managing large scale resourcing projects, developing HR policies and procedures, advising on organisational restructures and redundancy programmes, designing performance management systems, restructuring HR teams, coaching managers and HR professionals and significant exposure to a wide variety of employee relations issues.

Claire has a degree in Business and Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management and is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
